First, apologies if your event/refresher-training/call-out is not on the slider! There was A LOT going on in 2018! Just the Woolsey Fire was enough to take your breath away. The LAFD CERTs were much in demand, not only working on the call-outs, but refreshing their skills with frequent training exercises. Our Bureau Coordinators were stellar and we thank them:
Christy Adair, OVB
Carolyn Burleson, OCB
Chin Thammasaengsri, OSB
Carl Ginsberg, OWB
plus the Battalion Coordinators that gave up so much of their personal time to work on trainings, call-outs and their monthly LAFD CERT meetings! We thank them all! We said good-bye to CERT Unit Captain Christopher Winn but welcomed our new Captain Cody Weireter. We thank our hard working Commanders, Captains John Ignatczyk and Cody Weireter!

Don’t forget to view our past posts from just a few of our 2018 events:

We don’t have photos of all the call-outs for Wires Down and the LAFD Hydration Units going to the aide of our LAFD firefighters during the hot, summer months. The dedication of our CERT call-out volunteers is not only commenable, but humbling. All CERTs are volunteers, they give of their time but always with compassion, professionalism and tons of tenacity.

Are you inspired to get CERT Training? Please visit our constantly updated CERT class page. Take the training! Even if you do not go through the extra training for our Call-Out program, you are so much better prepared to assist your family and neighbors during an emergency. LAFD CERT Training

So, here’s to a lot of training, and hoping to not have to use any of it!

A Safe and a Happy New Year to Everyone!

Thanks to all of our photographers including Bernard Guyman (visit his site, http://www.kg6fbm.com/ for a ton of great CERT, LAFD. ACS, ARES & other organizations’ events). If you want photo credit, let us know at the website email address. Sorry we didn’t capture all the names!
