Please join the LAFD CERT Unit in extending a huge welcome to our new CERT Commander, Fire Captain Cody Weireter.

Captain Cody Weireter has been a member of the Los Angeles Fire Department for the past ten years. As a Firefighter, Captain Weireter served the Los Angeles communities of Downtown, South Los Angeles, Sunland-Tujunga, Van Nuys, Woodland Hills, and most recently as the Station Commander of Fire Station 46 located in the South Los Angeles area.

Captain Weireter’s diverse background encompasses a variety of disciplines such as: Hazardous Materials, Wildland Operations, Incident Management, and Public Relations.
Captain Weireter comes from a public safety family that has served the citizens of Los Angeles for nearly 4 decades. His mother, a retired Los Angeles Police Officer, and his father, a retired Los Angeles Firefighter instilled the core values Captain Weireter demonstrates today. He is married with two young children and contributes his successes to his supportive Wife.

Captain Weireter is honored to be the new LAFD CERT Unit Commander and looks forward to collaborating with ALL CERT Members both locally and abroad for the continual successes of this vital program.
