Sunday January 7, 2007 Los Angeles City was under Red Flag Warnings.  Winds above 25 miles per hour and humidity below 15% caused special concern for increased fire conditions.  CERT is utilized to assist the Fire Department in Roving Fire Patrol in order to spot any new fires or unusual circumstances.  On this day we were out on patrol for Battalion 12.  Emerging from one of our many large canyon areas we came upon a two-car accident involving 6 victims.  We stopped to assist and identify injuries.  Using the START system, we identified 1 immediate and 5 minors.  The immediate was in her 7th month of pregnancy.  Air bags had deployed and she was not wearing her seatbelt.  Highly distressed.  OCD (Fire Dispatch) was called and given information. Continued assessment on the immediate victim until Fire Department arrived and took over.  Fire Department and EMS arrived shortly thereafter.  Gave report to EMS Captain then continued
our patrol route.
