I Love CERT!

I was at the Rose Bowl on the 4th for the Americafest. Immediately after the "grand finale" I observed a trail of black smoke rising from the north end of venue, behind the jumbotron. The smoke became more intense and soon I saw flames licking upward on some trees, which was next to the area where the mortars were for the fireworks. This took place in about 5 minutes, there were no fire trucks to be seen or heard. I called Pasadena dispatch by cell, happen to have their number on speed dial, I identified myself, location, and what the situation was. I was informed that I was the second caller and that resources were being sent in. Two trucks responded with a Battalion Chief. Thirty minutes later I was able to make my way to the area and observed one small building and trees that were still smoldering. CERT, we are everywhere.
