Battalion 9 is a diverse area that includes the communities of Westwood, Brentwood, Bel Air, and the Pacific Palisades. Battalion 9 is also unique because it serves several enclaves that are not part of the City of Los Angeles. These include UCLA, the Veteran's Administration's Medical Center, the West LA Federal Building, and the community of Topanga. It also borders Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, which means that multi-jurisdictional issues are very important.
Battalion 9 includes both high-rise buildings in highly populated areas and remote canyons subject to wildfires. It has perhaps the most diverse geography in the LAFD, and it also includes extreme ranges of socioeconomic status within its borders.
Battalion 9 Fire Stations: 19, 23, 37, 59, 69, 71, 92
The Battalion 9 Coordinators are Patric Cohen and Mike Stajura.
