This Battalion incorporates the so-called media capital of the world, the Hollywood Hills, plus the usual assortment of business and residential areas.
Our Battalion hosts the Academy Awards, numerous protest marches, plus millions of tourists who visit hoping to see a star. CNN is around the corner from Station 27. We also host channels 2, 5,9, and maybe 11.If anything dramatic happens in Hollywood, the whole world will be watching. There is thus much concern about a terrorist event aimed at Hollywood.
There are so many tourist spots, I'll just list them:
Famed Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood and Vine, Mann's Chinese Theater, The Kodak Theatre, The El Capitan Theatre, Hollywood & Highland Complex, Cinerama Dome, Arc Light Theaters, The Hollywood Sign, Griffith Park, The Griffith Park Observatory, Paramount Studios, Melrose Avenue, The LA Zoo, Childrens Hospital LA, Greek Theatre, Hollywood Bowl, The Hollywood Forever Cemetery & The Hollywood Hills which are home to many celebrities.
Another area of concern is the Hollywood Hills. We are facing an unusually dry year with the result that the whole year has become fire season. Many of the roads in the hills are marked as Red Flag zones.
