A 20-member team that completed CERT Training on June 10, 2002 and are all part of the Wal-Mart Administration Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT). We have had two Train-the Trainer courses. We used the local technology training center. We now have 28 trainers for Custer County. Our first project was assisting the city police during a hostage situation. We handled traffic control and made sure that the police and fire personnel had plenty of refreshments. Our second project was during a Mass Immunization and Prophylaxis Site (MIPS) project. We were assigned the position of Logistics for the MIPS and were in charge of acquiring "Things and Stuff", traffic control, security, communications and ground support. Red Cross CERT
