Clarification of Opportunities

TO: ALL CERT VOLUNTEERS
SUBJECT: CLARIFICATION OF OPPORTUNITIES
CERT COMMUNITY MEETINGS
- Open to the public.
- Meet with CERT graduates in your communities, find out what others are doing, and get extra training.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
- Open to the public.
- No prior CERT training is required.
- The volunteers are being requested to be victims or participants in a drill, or to participate in any non-CERT training or activity.
- Do not wear CERT gear.
- Examples are: High-rise drill, Metro Rail drill, Community Fire Patrol, etc.
The following opportunities require paperwork (CERT Volunteer Enrollment Forms and/or copies of CERT IDs or CERT certificates) to be
submitted prior to participating. Fax all paperwork to 818-804-5302.
Once a paperwork requirement is satisfied, the forms/copies are kept on file and will apply to future events/opportunities.
QUARTERLY DIVISION TRAININGS
- Open to all CERT graduates regardless of affiliation.
- Los Angeles CERT members must submit completed CERT Volunteer Enrollment Forms prior to the event.
- CERT members from other agencies must submit copies of their CERT IDs or CERT certificates prior to the event.
REFRESHER
- Open to all CERT graduates regardless of affiliation.
- Sign up online.
- Los Angeles CERT members must submit completed CERT Volunteer Enrollment Forms prior to the event.
- CERT members from other agencies must submit copies of their CERT IDs or CERT certificates prior to the event.
CERT EVENT
- Open to all CERT graduates regardless of affiliation.
- Los Angeles CERT members must submit completed CERT Volunteer Enrollment Forms prior to the event.
- CERT members from other agencies must submit completed CERT Volunteer Enrollment Forms, with copies of their CERT IDs or CERT certificates, prior to the event.
- Examples are: LA Marathon, MCI drills, etc.
CALL-OUT TEAM
- Only members who are on the Call-out List and have CERT Volunteer Enrollment Forms on file with the Disaster Preparedness Section can participate.
- CERT members from other agencies must submit completed CERT Volunteer Enrollment Forms, with copies of their CERT IDs or CERT certificates, to be on a call-out
team.
- Sign up online.
- THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS CATEGORY.
- Example: Responding to incidents when requested by the LAFD.
