There is one Call-Out Team for the City. This gives everyone equal opportunity to respond.
CERT members will not self-dispatch to any incident. Only the CERT Call-Out Teams that are requested by the LAFD may respond.
LAFD ALERT Messages (email, Twitter, radio etc.) are not official instructions or authorization to take action.
Call-Out Team members will receive notice of the call-out from the automated call-out system.
Effective 07/12/08: Each Call-Out Team member shall:
- sign up online on this page.
- be at least 18 years old.
- have a LAFD CERT ID card
- have a DSW call-out sticker on the back of their ID
- been sworn in as a Disaster Service Worker with the LAFD CERT Unit
- attend at least two Quarterly Division Trainings per year
- comply with the LAFD CERT Code of Conduct
You can be sworn in as a Disaster Service Worker at most Quarterly Division Trainings.
When you are sworn in, your ID picture will be taken.
You can pick up your ID at the next Quarterly Division Training, if you sign up in advance.

Every member of the Call-Out Team must have a Volunteer Enrollment Form on file. This is a form required citywide for
all volunteers.
